Adult Formation

Faith for Life

Faith For Life is a new course that aims to support Adult Faith Formation in the Archdiocese of Liverpool. This course has been designed and is delivered, through a partnership agreement between the Archdioceses of Dublin and Liverpool.

The course is rooted in Sacred Scripture and draws on The Pastoral Cycle, the method See, Judge, Act, Catholic Social Teaching and Ignatian Spirituality.

Over four weekends the participants are invited to explore the call received in Baptism and deepen the connection between faith and their everyday lives. The course enables adults to be more confident in their faith and willing to work for change.

While the course is ideal for those involved in ministry in their parishes and members of Parish Pastoral Councils, it is also suitable for anyone who is searching.

What participants said…

“Faith for Life has awakened us to God’s love and presence in our lives.  Through breaking open God’s Word, reflection on Catholic Social Teaching, and being introduced to Ignatian Spirituality, we have been challenged to embrace our call to discipleship with courage, and to joyfully bear witness to Christ’s love in our lives.”

“While the course would be of particular value to anyone getting involved for the first time in ministry groups it also has a value for those already involved to learn fresh perspectives and approaches.  For those not actively involved it provides encouragement to believe that small contributions are needed and do make a difference with a ripple effect.  Becoming aware, listening to ourselves, others and God and discerning what is for the good of all will lead us to “love tenderly, act justly and walk humbly with our God.”

“We feel very blessed.  It was a great learning experience that provided new perspectives on our Individual faith stories.  We have grown in awareness, faith, hope and love through the people we met and the journey in faith we shared. In many ways our shared Lunch table captured the essence of the programme – sustaining each other!”

“While the Faith for Life course appeared very simple, it had a depth of learning and was an extremely enjoyable journey centred on the Word of God.  We made new friends, shared stories, learned more about ourselves, scripture, the church and Catholic Social Teaching enabling us to grow in love, understanding and acceptance.  We became alert, open and active to the needs and injustice of people on a local, national and international level. Overall it was a life changing experience which we would strongly recommend to others.”
