Welcome to the Archdiocese of Liverpool's Education Department

Welcome to the website of the Archdiocese of Liverpool’s Education Department. The Archdiocese provides a network of almost 230 schools and colleges across eight local education authorities and the Isle of Man. This includes nursery, infant, junior, primary and secondary schools plus sixth form colleges. Successive external reports give testament to the enduring quality of these schools which continue to place emphasis on personal, spiritual and moral formation as well as on academic progress.
The department is staffed by a professional team providing support and advice to Headteachers, Governing Bodies and Clergy and assisting the Archbishop and Trustees to carry out their responsibilities in Canon, Civil and Charity Law on a wide variety of matters including governance, staff recruitment, admission arrangements, religious education, and capital development.
