The winners of the student photography competition organised by the Liverpool Archdiocese Secondary Schools Partnership are to be announced at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King on Tuesday 7 June at 1.30pm followed by a presentation ceremony.
Schools from throughout the Archdiocese of Liverpool took part in the competition which covered the Liverpool, Sefton, Knowsley, St Helens, Lancashire, Wigan, Warrington and Halton areas with separate categories for lower school and upper school students; prizes will be awarded for the top three in each.
The theme of the competition is 'Spirituality within our School' with an optional focus on the Year of Mercy called by Pope Francis. Each picture has a short description interpreting the theme. A selection of entries, including the winners, will be on display at the Metropolitan Cathedral until Thursday 16 June. Journalists and photographers are invited to attend the presentation ceremony at the Metropolitan Cathedral on Tuesday 7th.
