Sister Catherine Holum, a US Olympic speed skater turned Franciscan Sister of the Renewal, will be speaking at the Prince of Peace Community, St Emilie's on Monday 23 November.
Sister Catherine represented the United States at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan, before in her own words being "called to something greater, to one day become a Franciscan Sister".
The evening will also include adoration, praise and worship, and prayers of healing. The event starts at 7.30pm, with Sister Catherine, who resides in Leeds, scheduled to talk from 8.30 onwards.
Now Sr Catherine Mary of the Holy Trinity CFR, the former Olympian believes that making her final profession of vows was "the best prize of all" – having received "the call of Jesus to be His Bride" during a pilgrimage to Fatima.
