Archbishop Malcolm on corporal and spiritual works of mercy

The Most Reverend Malcolm McMahon OP writes in relation to the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy for 2015–16 announced by Pope Francis:

"It would be good for us to reflect on the spiritual works of mercy – to counsel the doubtful, instruct the ignorant, call sinners to repentance, comfort the afflicted, forgive offences, bear wrongs patiently, and pray for the living and the dead – and the corporal works of mercy – to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, welcome the stranger, visit the sick, visit the imprisoned, and bury the dead – during this Jubilee, and to think about how we can better reflect the mercy of God as individuals, families, parishes, schools, chaplaincies and the Diocese."
