Volunteering

Make a difference

Work with us as we support local church communities and the spreading of the Gospel across the Archdiocese of Liverpool.

Volunteering in the Archdiocese of Liverpool

We want to make volunteering as easy and safe as possible for our communities. We do this by encouraging all our parishes to make volunteering opportunities available here on our website, which people who want to volunteer can then apply for. In addition, we run events such as induction and health and safety training to help people get started in volunteering and to support active volunteers.

We always welcome new volunteers, if you would like to start volunteering for the archdiocese whether it is for your local parish or an archdiocesan group, then please complete the below form.

Our social action

There are a number of charities and organisations you can get involved with in the archdiocese. These include Nugent, Caritas, Pax Christi, CAFOD, Missio, and Feeding Liverpool.

Safeguarding and volunteering

Please see this helpful guidance on DBS eligibility and role descriptions from our Safeguarding Department.

All volunteers must adhere to our code of behaviour

Volunteer Policy

Volunteering is the commitment of time and energy for the benefit of society and the community: the environment of individuals outside one’s immediate family. It is undertaken freely and by choice without concern for financial gain.

Thank you

‘At the Last Supper the Lord Jesus washed the feet of his disciples and commanded us to love one another. Our baptismal ministry is one of love and service to God and to others - without the energy, commitment, and love shown by you in our parishes we would not be able to live out the Lord’s command.

I thank you on behalf of the archdiocese for all that you do in the service of the Lord in so very many ways. It is invaluable to our local Church and may God bless you for everything that you do.’
