Brothers and Sisters,

On the Lord's day, as we continue to pray for peace across the world, we are confronted with news that people gathered for worship in Michigan are terrorised, injured and killed.

As the Catholic community of Liverpool, we join our prayer for peace with justice for all those suffering in the aftermath of the shootings in Grand Blanc, Michigan today, and for all those across the world who are suffering in the plight of terrorism, oppression and darkness. We pray for the victims, for those who have died, for the bereaved and for the first responders and emergency services who are ministering at this time.

For healing, wholeness, light, peace, forgiveness and religious tolerance today, let us pray to the Lord!

+John Sherrington

Archbishop of Liverpool
