People from across the archdiocese are warmly invited to take part in a special pilgrimage walk on Saturday 5 September as part of this year's Season of Creation celebrations.
The pilgrimage will begin at St Clare and St Hugh Church, Sefton, and conclude at St Anthony of Padua Church, Mossley Hill, where pilgrims will gather for the celebration of Holy Mass.
Taking place during the 800th anniversary year of St Francis of Assisi's enduring witness to God's love for all creation, the walk offers an opportunity for prayer, fellowship and reflection on our shared responsibility to care for our common home.
Pilgrimages have long been an important part of the Church's spiritual tradition, bringing people together in faith while offering time for prayer and contemplation. Whether participants are experienced pilgrims or joining a pilgrimage for the first time, all are welcome to take part.
Chris Higgins, Parish and Deanery Development Adviser and organiser of several archdiocesan pilgrimage walks, said: "Walking together in pilgrimage reminds us that Christian life is a journey of faith. As we reflect on the gift of creation and our responsibility to care for it, this pilgrimage offers an opportunity to pray, build friendships, and deepen our relationship with God. Everyone is welcome to join us for what promises to be a joyful and prayerful day."
Further details about timings, the route and practical arrangements will be announced closer to the date.
