July 29, 2026

Tuesday began with another early start for the Hospitalité team and the over-18s from some of the youth coaches at the St Frai. As the assisted pilgrims awoke, volunteers helped them get ready for the day ahead and served breakfast before everyone headed out to begin the day's programme.

Later in the morning, pilgrims gathered for the lower stations of the cross, prayerfully led by our young people. The service provided an opportunity to reflect on Christ's journey and to pray together in the beautiful surroundings of Lourdes.

For some of our youth coaches, they had their day off - a well-earned opportunity to rest and recharge. Excursions included visits to the spectacular Caves of Bétharram and the nearby beach, allowing them to explore and enjoy the surrounding areas.

Throughout the day, pilgrims also found time for quiet reflection and personal prayer. Members of Our Lady and All Saints Parish, Parbold, lit candles in the Sanctuary on behalf of parishioners at home, while youth pilgrims from Coach 8 spent time at the Grotto, bringing their own prayers and intentions to this special place.

The day concluded with the whole pilgrimage coming together for Mass in the Basilica of St Bernadette. Gathering as one community in prayer was a fitting end to another memorable day in Lourdes.
