Paschal Baylon Parish Centre in Huyton has taken on a vibrant new lease of life, thanks to a new tenant, local community interest company The Vibe Liverpool CIC. The organisation officially opened its doors in its new location on 2 June after signing a five-year lease with the archdiocese.

Founded by Diane Robinson, whose daughter is a young adult with additional needs, The Vibe Liverpool CIC was born out of a personal commitment to creating more inclusive opportunities.

Over the past decade, the organisation has supported young people aged 16 and over, as well as adults with additional needs, offering vital social and developmental experiences.

Until now, the group relied on hiring temporary venues, setting up and packing away each time. With a permanent base at Paschal Baylon, the vision for a fully inclusive, thriving community hub is now becoming a reality.

“We’ve always dreamed of having somewhere permanent, in the heart of the community, where our members feel truly at home,” said Diane.“This space allows us to grow and offer even more to those we support.”

The club is already a hive of activity, offering something every day – including weekends and evenings – from social clubs and gardening sessions, to boxing, cooking classes, and drop-in events that promote life skills and wellbeing.

The space is open to everyone aged 16 and over, with the current oldest member aged 82.

Plans are also in place to open two on-site bars in phased stages and to hire out the venue as a function room. The team hopes that as the centre develops, it will be run and shaped by its service users.

Long-term, the aim is to create a true community hub – with events like bingo nights, coffee mornings, and Alzheimer’s support sessions welcoming people from all walks of life.

With its large car park, central location, and proximity to local schools, the club is ideally situated to serve Huyton and beyond. Hundreds of local residents are already benefitting from its inclusive, supportive ethos.

The Vibe Liverpool’s presence at Paschal Baylon is a powerful example of the Church’s spaces continuing to support the spiritual and social wellbeing of the community.

A spokesperson for the Archdiocese of Liverpool said: “We are delighted to welcome Vibe Liverpool CIC to Paschal Baylon Parish Centre.

"It’s wonderful to see the space being used in a way that supports and uplifts the local community, especially those who can often feel overlooked. We look forward to seeing the centre grow into a hub of connection, inclusion and opportunity.”
