On 11 September, MPs will debate the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill at its Second Reading in the House of Commons.

Archbishop John Sherrington, Archbishop of Liverpool and Lead Bishop for Life Issues, has urged people to take the opportunity to contact their MP and share their concerns about the bill.

The Archbishop has highlighted concerns about the impact of assisted suicide legislation on vulnerable people, healthcare professionals, and the future of palliative care.

He said:

“Assisted suicide is a matter of life and death… I urge people to contact their Member of Parliament and ask them to vote against this deeply flawed bill at Second Reading.”
