The Season of Creation (1 September – 4 October) is a time when Catholics worldwide unite in prayer and action for our common home. This year brings a significant development: the formal inclusion of the Mass for the Care of Creation in the Roman Missal, now approved for use in England and Wales.
This Eucharistic celebration invites us to reflect on creation as God’s gift, to repent of the harm we have caused to our planet and its people, and to renew our call to live as faithful stewards of the Earth. As Cardinal Michael Czerny notes, “with this Mass, the Church is offering liturgical, spiritual and communal support for the care we all need to exercise of nature, our common home.”
