At the end of the 2025–26 academic year, St Julie’s Youth SVP group took on a fantastic fundraising challenge in support of Mary’s Meals, a charity that provides school meals for children living in some of the world’s poorest communities.
To support the charity, members of the school's Youth SVP group helped to raise awareness across the school and took part in an overnight lock-in. Throughout the night, students got involved in a range of activities that helped them think about the challenges faced by children living in poverty and learn more about the difference Mary’s Meals is making around the world.
The fundraiser was also a wonderful way for students to put St Julie’s Notre Dame values into action. They showed Faith through their commitment to helping others, Hope by supporting brighter futures for children, and Justice by raising awareness of global inequality. Their efforts were motivated by Love, carried out with plenty of Joy, and rooted in the belief that every person deserves dignity, care and opportunity.
Thanks to their hard work, enthusiasm and generosity, the group raised an amazing £715.07. Anna, from Mary's Meals accepted the cheque personally and thanked the students for their efforts. The money will provide 35 children with a nutritious school meal every day for an entire school year. It is fantastic to think that the students’ efforts here at St Julie’s will make such a meaningful difference to children and families elsewhere in the world.
The project was a brilliant example of our Catholic call to serve others and to “serve the good God well” through our words and actions. We are incredibly proud of the students involved and the way they represented the spirit of the St Julie’s and Notre Dame family through their kindness, generosity and willingness to help others.
