Antonia Brindle, Parish Centre Manager, St Ambrose Parish Centre

A typical day for Antonia starts at 8.30am with beer orders and deliveries. She catches up on weekly paperwork and timesheets, then prepares the club for the week ahead. There is always something to organise to make sure everything runs smoothly.

What Antonia enjoys most about the role is the customer interaction. She loves helping to create the perfect events for customers and their loved ones. This includes supporting families booking funerals or christenings, as well as welcoming the regular local trade who keep the business alive.

Many people might be surprised by how involved the role of a General Manager really is. Organisation is a key part of the job, from managing rotas and event orders to taking bookings both in the club and at home. Being able to sit with customers, give them time, and listen to what is happening in their lives is just as important.

Antonia also works closely with reliable suppliers so that customers can feel confident their events will run as planned. Strong customer service underpins everything she does.
