As our schools take a well-deserved break for Easter, we take a look at what they have been up to during this term.

Primary

Stations of the Cross at St Joseph’s

St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Penketh have been preparing for Easter by hosting their own Stations of the Cross at the school.

Lent Market at St Bernadette’s

St Bernadette’s Catholic Primary School in Shevington held a Lenten Market, with proceeds going towards CAFOD – well done all!

Recognition for Holy Family Catholic Academy

Miss Fitzgerald at Holy Family Catholic Academy, Wigan, won Early Years Practitioner of the Year at the Wigan and Leigh College Awards recently – well done!

Easter bonnets!

Our Lady Queen of Martyrs and St Swithin’s Catholic Primary School in Croxteth have had fun making bonnets for Easter! Check them out here.

Secondary

Cardinal Heenan visit Parliament

Sixth form students from Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School, West Derby, visited Parliament as a guest of local MP Ian Byrne.

They were in Westminster for the National Debating Final, and the MP paid tribute to the students, calling them a real reflection of our city.

Celebration of Notre Dame

Recently there was a Mass at the Metropolitan Cathedral celebrating 175 years of Notre Dame Education in Liverpool.

Students from St Julie’s Catholic High School and Notre Dame Academy came together along with alumni to celebrate the impact of Notre Dame.

The Passion at All Saints

All Saints Catholic High School in Kirkby ended their school term with a performance of The Passion, performed by Music, Dance and Drama students. Their term also ended with a trip to the theatre, where their veryown Mr Goulden was lead conductor for The Gondoliers – a Gilbert and Sullivan Opretta.

Special Anniversary for St John Fisher

It has been one year since the then Archbishop of Liverpool, Malcolm McMahon opened the new school at St John Fisher High School in Wigan.

Big Lent Walk at SS Peter and Paul

Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Secondary School in Widnes have been doing their part for the Big Lent Walk – their year sevens doing laps of the field to get their steps in.
