July 6, 2026

The Jesuit Institute is offering an online Week of Guided Prayer for those who have been affected by clergy abuse, taking place from Sunday18 to Friday 23 October 2026.

The retreat is open to anyone who has been affected by clergy abuse, whether directly or indirectly, and offers a safe, prayerful space to reflect on their relationship with God.

Participants will be invited to spend around 30 minutes each day in personal prayer and will have the opportunity to meet online with an experienced spiritual director for up to 45 minutes each day, at a time that suits them. The team of spiritual directors includes both priests and lay people, men and women, all experienced in accompanying people through prayer.

There is no charge to take part.

One participant who attended the retreat earlier this year shared:

"Thank you for 'getting me'. It always feels like such a massive risk to dare to trust someone with deep things... things which have been hard. The things I struggle with – you just seem to understand. That's such a wonderful gift."

You can sign up online here. The retreat will also be offered again in Spring and Autumn 2027.
