St. Mary's Catholic High School and Sixth Form College celebrate another year of excellent GCSE results, reflecting the hard work, dedication and resilience of it's students.
These results demonstrate not only strong academic achievement but also the character, ambition and values that define St. Mary's students.
Headteacher Denise Brahms said: ‘We are incredibly proud of our students who have worked with commitment and courage throughout their GCSE course. These results reflect not only academic success but the strength of character, perseverance, and positive attitude our students have shown throughout their studies.
"We also want to thank our dedicated staff and supportive families who have played a vital role in helping our students reach their potential.’
Among this year’s top performers were:
• Lok Tin celebrates 6 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s , 1 Grade 7 and 1 Grade 6.
• Milly-Jey is celebrating achieving 3 Grade 9s; 3 Grade 8s and 2 Grade 7s – she has today enrolled for St. Mary’s Sixth Form College to study Psychology, Biology and Spanish.
• Noah celebrates - 7 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s.
• Holly who achieved 6 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s and 1 Grade 7 will study Physics, Performing Arts, Maths and Further Maths at St. Mary’s Sixth Form College.
• Francesca achieved 1 Grade 9, 3 Grade 8s, 3 Grade 7s and 1 Grade 6. Francesca is going on to study Biology, Maths and Physics at St. Mary’s Sixth Form College.
• Bryn is celebrating his achievement of: 8 Grade 7s and 1 Grade 6; he will go on to study Chemistry, Geography and Music at St. Mary’s Sixth Form College.
• Markus achieved 5 Grade 7’s, 2 Grade 6 and 1 Grade 4 and is staying at St. Mary’s Sixth Form College to study Computing, Physics, Maths and Further Maths.
Many subjects saw particularly strong results, with students securing top grades resulting in year-on year improvement for the school.
Dr Neil Gredecki (Chair of Governors) added: ‘We are not only celebrating academic excellence but also the growth, confidence, and readiness these students have shown for the next stage in their lives – whether that’s sixth form, college, apprenticeships, or employment. The destinations and intended qualification of our pupils is truly aspirational.’
