National Marriage Week is an opportunity to recognise the gift of marriage and the
important role it plays in family life and in the wider community. As part of the week,
the Archdiocese of Liverpool hosts the Mass of Marriage and Family Life, inviting
couples to give thanks for their vocation, renew their commitment to one another,
and pray for the strengthening of family relationships.
The annual Marriage and Family Life Mass is celebrated during Marriage Week at the Metropolitan Cathedral, bringing together couples from across the Archdiocese of Liverpool to give thanks for the sacrament of marriage.
The Mass includes the renewal of marriage vows, a blessing for all couples, and a special recognition of those celebrating significant anniversaries. Couples are also invited to remember loved ones during the celebration, and those who register receive a commemorative certificate. The service is followed by a time of hospitality, giving couples the opportunity to gather and share together.
