‘For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, Iwas in prison and you came to visit me.’ (Matthew 25)
Catholic social action comes as a direct response to Jesus’ command to love our neighbour and is one of the ways that God’s love is made known in the world through us. Christians are called to a life of Hope, meaning not only believing in God’s goodness, but making that goodness visible through acts of compassion and justice. By standing together as one family- with those made poor, excluded, or vulnerable- we affirm every person’s dignity and become witnesses to this Hope and to God’s healing love for his creation.

“The climate is a common good, belonging to all and meant for all.” (Laudato Si’, 23)
Our Christian faith challenges usto examine how we live, why we live, and for whom. We believe that our encounter with Christ on the journey of our own life should become evident in our relationship with the world around us. Our archdiocese is therefore committed to caring for creation. Click here to learn more about care for creation in the Archdiocese of Liverpool and how to get involved in this work in your parish.
Season of Creation is when the Christian family unites for a worldwide celebration of prayer and action to protect our common home. Why not include Season of Creation issues in bidding prayers, have a harvest meal, or take a walk in a local park to appreciate nature.
Working with the Diocese of Brentwood, the Archdiocese of Liverpool has prepared a resource with prayers and activities for each day of this season. These can be used in your parish, school, or organisation. Click here for Seasons of Creation resources.
During the Season of Creation 2025, we will start work on a new one-year plan so please keep posted to this page for updates.
